Minecraft Survival – RPG News

As you may know I have been doing some Minecraft videos over on YouTube. Now I didn’t want to spend a great deal of time spamming the crap out of this site with video announcements so have decided to just link to the playlist of the videos so far…

Things I have learned so far:

  • Editing videos is a pain in the arse but it gets easier with experience.
  • Gaining viewers is hard work.
  • Its very time consuming.

One of the things that I would love to do in the future is record some RPG sessions, I was going to use the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd Edition but the custom dice are an issues when playing on-line.  So I have decided to use the fantastic RPG Dragon Age for the videos, its simple and only require 3d6 to run.

The videos will be recorded from my perspective (GMing) to begin with as recording a group is not easy online.  Hopefully as I’m going to be making the videos with my own gaming group we will also be able to produce some round table videos as well.

Anyway here’s the link to the Minecraft video Playlist:

Tabletop – Geek & Sundry

If your into boardgames then you probably already know about the excellent YouTube series called Tabletop under the Geek & Sundry label. With live game sessions including Small World, Settlers of Catan and the brilliant Ticket to Ride already published this is THE place to get your gaming fix.

Excellent production values and Wil Wheaton doing an excellent job of presenting the games, you’ll feel well look after.

Get your gaming fix…

YouTube – ‪Drakkenstrike’s Channel‬‏

If you’re into your boardgames and love sitting down to organise all those little pieces into the correct size order…then decide it might be better by order of importance to the game…then by which player will be using them…this might just be the channel for you!

YouTube – ‪drakkenstrike’s Channel‬‏.

Drakkenstrike does a really great job of organising the games ready for play and has recently started reviewing the games as well.

Doesn’t matter how I organise the boxes though, I still cant find the pieces I need for descent and I have a feeling I am keeping the “Really Useful Box” company in the black.

Dungeons and Dragons UK Celebrity Game

After the brilliant Dungeons and Dragons videos for the PAX 2010 convention Chris Perkins visited the UK and put our celebs into a dungeon to see if they can hold their own against the darkness.

Here’s the Introduction and the first 4 videos of the session. I will add the rest as they are released.

If there is one thing these videos are doing is making me realise how much fun D&D was in our group. I’m also beginning to think my earlier experience of the system may have been effected by comments on the web.

Do you have any thoughts on D&D? Why not pop over to the Drunken Goblin Facebook Group and join the discussion.

P.S. I have also signed up for a new D&D Insider subscription. Purchased the Red Box, Hero’s and Rule compendium from the D&D Essentials line. I’m really enjoying the new size of the books and the new updated rules with added comprehensive index is a god send. Well done WOTC.

Visit the Dungeons and Dragons YouTube Channel to view more videos from Wizards of the Coast.

PAX 2010 D&D Celebrity Game

These videos are well worth watching if you have any interest in roleplay.  It shows how much fun D&D can be and are a continuation from the podcast episodes released by Wizards of the Coast.  After watching these videos I am itching to try out the Gamma World boxset.

Podcasts can be found on the Wizards website.

Wizards YouTube Channel can be found here.

These sessions were recorded live at PAX 2010 and stars Jerry Holkins, Scott Kurtz, Mike Krahulik, and Wil Wheaton!

These sessions are DMed by the Master of the Dungeons – Chris Perkins, enjoy.

Vampire the Masquerade : Throw up

Our RPG group has just started Vampire the Masquerade and apart from being dressed as a clown things are going quite well.  So for a bit of research I checked out YouTube for Vamp………Oh my GOD! I think I just threw up in my mouth a bit.

Tristan this message is for you alone.  Your my buddy, your my pal. I think your a great DM and a wonderful person.  Please don’t be inspired unless its Kev and Steve, then I would bring the camera……

Board James – He Loves His Games

There are a lot of highly talented people on the web producing quality videos for our entertainment.

James Rolfe is one of these people.  His love of film (and random other film formats) really shine through in his videos and it looks like he loves Hero Quest about as much as I do.

Check out his Hero Quest video here:

His website is at http://www.cinemassacre.com/.

His youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesNintendoNerd.

While you are on his site also check out the brilliant Angry Video Game Nerd videos, but watch out for the shitpickle.

First Video – Answering Questions From Sean Connors

Well I did it! I made my first video for youtube.  This is a major step for me as I hate seeing myself on video.

Here is the original video from Sean Connors asking questions to any DM’s out there:

Here is my video:

If you are a DM out there and you own a video camera then why not have a go at making a video!

Also please be gentle as it is my first time!
